Welcoming 2025

Jan. 01, 2025 / lifestyle

Goodbye 2024, and hello 2025!

Growing up, I had a love/hate relationship with New Year’s resolutions. I remember having a handful of goals, feeling motivated for the month, and forgetting all about it. The cycle would repeat itself for years to come, up until a decade ago when I gave up on New Year resolutions after a colleague told me he thought New Year resolutions were dumb because if you truly wanted to change, you would’ve done it already and don’t need a new year to start. Hearing that shifted my perspective for a while.

It wasn’t until 2023 that I went back to making goals but being more strategic about them. Gone are vague, grand goals I could never achieve in just one month before my motivation faded. I started to break things into categories and added only 1-3 realistic goals. I also started to make yearly priorities, which slightly differ from my goals.

Here are some of my goals and priorities for 2025:

Priorities

  • Donate to the Canadian Mental Health Association
  • Practice mindful spending and reduce consumerism

Family

  • Go on our first family vacation! Big or small – it doesn’t matter
  • Be more budget-conscious

Personal

  • Get back to 115 lbs
  • Prioritize and maintain fitness
  • Finish 2019 scrapbook pages – yes, I’m so behind!

Career

  • Obtain an HR Manager or HR Lead position. I’m currently a senior

Eleventh Avenue

  • Have 5 brand collaborations
  • Be more consistent on IG

New Year’s resolutions are not for everyone, and that’s okay! I was not a fan of them for years but managed to accomplish many things within the year.

If you have some New Year’s resolutions, what are they? Drop them in the comment section below!

With love, Claire

I have to say this is much better approach. Not only are these goals doable but they are also productive and positive!

The snow has melted... it's time for me to finally start driving to work 😩

(Dan is supportive enough to continue daycare pick-ups if I absolutely hate driving to work 🥹🤎)
